Councilor Mike Lester

Broken Arrow native Mike Lester joined the Broken Arrow City Council in April 2007. He was reelected in 2011 and 2015.

The youngest of seven siblings, Lester graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1966 and earned his BS in Business from NSU in 1970 and a Master's degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Oklahoma City University in 1973.

Lester worked for the Tulsa Police Department from 1971 to 1977 in the patrol, traffic and detective divisions. In 1977, he created Lester & Associates, a general contractor company in Broken Arrow. Lester started as a home builder and later evolved into commercial construction.

He is a member of the Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors, Oklahoma Association of Realtors, Broken Arrow Civitans and National Association of Realtors.

Lester’s community involvement includes 20 years with the Broken Arrow Civitans, five years on Union Public School’s Board of Education and 30 years on the district’s Long Range Planning Committee. He also served on the Broken Arrow Planning Commission for 10 years and the Broken Arrow Board of Adjustment for one year.

His wife, Pat, is a retired Union Public Schools teacher. They have two sons and two grandchildren. The Lester’s are members of Asbury United Methodist Church.
