Providing Customer Service for Commercial and Residential Development
The Development Services Department provides a one-stop service to commercial and residential development. This includes cradle to grave support for these areas. Development Services brings together the professionals needed to help streamline the process of rezoning, platting, obtaining permits and inspections.
The staff is dedicated to providing excellent customer service by offering professional, caring and timely service. They provide essential information to the public concerning City Codes and Ordinances, along with overseeing the process of platting, zoning, planned unit developments (PUDs), inspections, occupational licensing and public nuisances.
Development Services is comprised of four divisions; each of which has varying degrees of responsibility:
The Inspection Division is responsible for ensuring that new structures and all modifications are constructed to currently adopted codes and ordinances.
One Stop Center
All applications are made through the One Stop Center in order to facilitate tracking and recording of all required departmental actions. The One Stop Center is located in the Broken Arrow City Hall, 220 South First Street, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012. You may reach the office by calling (918) 259-2411.
A pre-development meeting, coordinated by the Plan Development Coordinator is required for all major developments and applications prior to submittal of any documents to the City of Broken Arrow.
Plan Development Division reviews applications for land use, zoning, subdivision (plats), comprehensive plan amendments, special uses, variances, planned unit developments (PUD’s), site plans and site engineering. Plan Development may provide information relative to adopted codes and ordinances on urban design, architecture, and landscaping.
