Finance Department

Responsibilities
The Finance Department accounts for expenditures, assets and liabilities; prepares and administers the annual budget; manages the City's investments; pays bills, claims and debts; issues licenses; handles the sale of cemetery plots in the City's Park Grove Cemetery; monitors the annual capital plan; works with auditors in preparing and presenting the annual audit; and administers the City's utilities collection program.

The department is located on the south end of City Hall and also includes the water department. The street address is 116 E. Dallas, and there is a ramp available for those using wheelchairs. Handicapped parking is also available.

City Budget

Broken Arrow's Municipal Government and its services are built around a budget which is created by the City Manager and Finance Department, working with individual departments and divisions. The proposed budget is submitted to the City Council each year for consideration and input. A final version is then submitted to the City Council in late May or early June. By state law it must be approved and in place by July 1 the start of the Fiscal Year.
