National Coffee with a Cop day is a day dedicated to encourage communication and positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and the public.
The day began as part of National Community Policing Week in 2016 and now continues each year on the first Wednesday in October furthering efforts nationwide to bridge the gap between the community and the law.
“Coffee with a Cop" is community policing at its core. The simple act of having a cup of coffee with community members can be the first step in increasing trust and cooperation between the police and the people they serve.

Residents may dump free by presenting a driver’s license with a Broken Arrow address or a recent utility bill. City employees will be on site to verify residency. Any household waste can be dropped off except for the following items: Hazardous materials, liquids (such as paint in liquid form, gasoline, used oil, etc.), batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, untreated medical waste and compressed gas cylinders. Refrigerators/air conditioners/freezers/or Freon containing items will be accepted with the proper documentation that the refrigerant has been properly removed by a licensed CFC technician. There will be a $2 fee for each car tire, $4 fee for each truck tire. Motor oil, batteries, antifreeze, steel cans and scrap metal are accepted year-round at the Metropolitan Environmental Trust (MET) recycling facility located at 302 North Elm Place. The facility also accepts plastic bottles, glass bottles, newspaper, office paper, aluminum cans, cardboard and paperboard.

The Broken Arrow Police Department is sponsoring the Night Out on Crime with Fun and Games on Main . The community party runs between 6-8 PM. Police Officers and numerous public service agencies will distribute educational materials. There will be attractions and family entertainment geared for children and parents who want to bring the entire family to participate. The Night Out on Crime will have: Master of Ceremonies Hip Hop Cop (retired) Ezell Ware; Petting Zoo; Jump houses; Free hot dogs courtesy of Reasor’s & Broken Arrow Target; BAPD's Special Operations Team, bike patrol, communications, animal control, K-9, crime scene investigator, Victims of Crime Advocate, motorcycles; Broken Arrow Fire Department; Vince and Larry Crash Dummies; McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog; Costume contest, hosted by First National Bank. (6:45 – Ages 2 and under; 7:00 – Ages 3-6; 7:15 – Ages 7-17 and 7:30 – Adults)
