Emergency Phone Alerts

Here's a short video that describes how to opt-in to our messaging system:

Sign Up for Emergency Phone Calls

  1. If you have a landline phone, you’re automatically enrolled to receive automated emergency phone calls. But if you rely on your cell phone for calls, you’ll need to subscribe. 
  2. Go to
  3. Click on the button that says “Register Now”.
  4. On the registration page, be sure to fill in your information and click “Submit Registration” when you’re done. Now, you’ll start receiving phone calls about emergencies and other important City alerts.

Sign Up for News Notices

  1. Go to
  2. Type in your email address and hit “Sign In”. 
  3. Find the list you’re interested in and click on either the envelope or phone icons, or both if you want to receive notifications to both your email and smartphone. 
    • Alert Center will provide updates on road closures and trash schedules. 
    • News Flash is the news center that lets you know about City Council actions, including the City Council Highlights videos, changes to City services, new programs, and more.
    • Calendar - A popular subscription is Community events. That way you’ll know when Rooster Days or the Christmas parade and other events are coming up. 
    • Bid postings - If you’re a business owner interested in doing business with the City, sign up to receive notifications about bid postings.
