POW-MIA Recognition Day

Saturday, September 15, 2018

U.S. Army veteran Bill Grisez is the scheduled speaker for the event. Mr. Grisez served with the 82nd Airborne and was a POW for two years in a German POW camp during WWII. His story of service and survival is an inspirational one. The Military History Center will also dedicate a brickwalk to the Choctaw Code Talkers of WWI and have an official opening ceremony for the Native Americans in the Military exhibit currently on display. Speaking at the event is the great-granddaughter of Ben Carterby and the President of the Choctaw Code Talkers Association, Nuchi Nashoba. The event is open to the public and is offered free of charge. The Military History Center would like to see as many veterans as possible in attendance. Everyone is encouraged to bring family and friends for this event honoring our Prisoners of War and those Missing In Action.
