Mounted Patrol Unit Graduation

The Broken Arrow Police Department would like to invite the public to attend the upcoming graduation of our Mounted Patrol Unit, Friday, April 21 at 5:30PM at the Broken Arrow Round Up Club.
A meet and greet will directly follow the ceremony.
The MPU is graduating 14 officers and 14 horses.
The teams attended 3 training days prior to their Mounted Patrol qualification course.
The Mounted Patrol course was a 40-hour school completed over 2 weekends.
The course was instructed by the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Lead instructor Randy Garner.
The teams learned:
• Formations
• Movements
• Arrest procedures
• Approaches
• Overcoming Obstacles
• Desensitization to loud noises, smoke, sirens, gunshots, ATV’s, vehicles, etc.
• Crowd Control
• Protection of Rider
• Separating people in large crowds
• Vehicle extractions
• Movements
• Arrest procedures
• Approaches
• Overcoming Obstacles
• Desensitization to loud noises, smoke, sirens, gunshots, ATV’s, vehicles, etc.
