Home MenuCAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM
Each year, the city evaluates its public utility infrastructure to ensure it is delivering safe drinking water to homes and businesses and reclaiming the water customers use to properly treat and release that clean water under the Environmental Protection Agency’s requirements. That evaluation includes an analysis of the Water Utilities Capital Improvements Program to continue reinvesting in the city’s public utility infrastructure to meet the expectations of our customers needs of these essential services now and into the future.
The city’s capital improvements program for water infrastructure is funded annually through the Oklahoma Water Resources Board. The OWRB provides a low-interest loan Drinking Water Program to assist communities with public water supply infrastructure construction projects such as drinking water treatment, transmission or storage projects that are eligible under the Safe Drinking Water Act.
The capital improvements for the sanitary sewer system infrastructure are also funded annually through the OWRB and its Clean Water Program. This program assists communities with municipal wastewater projects.
