Recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills, conserves our natural resources, and reduces the need to mine and process new raw materials.

Get started by recycling these common items:  paper, cardboard, magazines, milk cartons, plastic bottles, detergent bottles, glass bottles and jars, and metal and aluminum cans.

These items should NOT be placed in your recycling cart:  diapers, food, green waste, styrofoam, garden hoses, plastic bags, propane tanks, aerosol cans, fluorescent bulbs, paints or solvents, and batteries.

A quick rinse is nice for most things.  Don’t worry about getting your containers sparkling clean.

The recycling symbol is not regulated. Some materials may be made from “recyclable” materials that there is no market for.  Other items may be only partially made from “recyclable” materials and there is no market for them. If there is no market for the materials in your area, the recycling facility will not take those items.
