Tourism & Economic Development

The City of Broken Arrow's Tourism and Economic Development (TED) team has two primary focuses within the City: 1) Business Retention and Expansion and 2) Tourism and Marketing.

The TED team works closely with the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation (BAEDC) in order to make Broken Arrow an attractive place for businesses to locate. BAEDC is an independent organization that serves as a partnership between the business community, the city government and the public schools. The Economic Development Corporation focuses on creating wealth, jobs, and economic growth in the community through attraction & retention of businesses, workforce development & education, and collaboration with regional partners. The BAEDC Staff serve the Broken Arrow business community as a source of information and assistance to help grow existing businesses and create new ones. Our staff works diligently to recruit and attract both primary jobs that create the foundation of the business community, and retail establishments that help to create a sense-of-place that is befitting of a community of its size.

Business Retention & Expansion

Many times Broken Arrow's best prospects for adding jobs and growing our economy are already located in the City. The Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) program was created with that in mind. Two Business Retention and Expansion Coordinators meet with local entrepreneurs, business owners, and managers to help identify issues of concern to them and the success of their businesses. They can also relay information about how we as a City might be able to help them succeed and continue to thrive in Broken Arrow.

The ongoing goals of the BR&E program are:

  • Improving the business climate of the community;
  • Assist local businesses to remain competitive;
  • Increase employment;
  • Help stabilize the local economy; and
  • Develop networks where existing employers can partner to help grow the economy and add employment.

Tourism & Marketing

The Tourism and Marketing team work with Visit Broken Arrow to help attract tourists and event planners to the City. The Tourism team focuses on bringing events to the City and Stoney Creek Convention Center to fill hotel rooms as well as market the Rose District, New Orleans Square and Broken Arrow's numerous other attractions around the region.
