The City of Broken Arrow plays a strong role in helping event planners bring people together safely and successfully in both city-wide and neighborhood events. Within this site are guidelines and requirements, event calendars, and contact information.
Broken Arrow is a city that celebrates special events. From conventions and sporting events to community-based festivals, concerts, and parades. Broken Arrow is proud to host over 100 events per year throughout the city. It is our goal to enhance the vitality, quality of life, and economic prosperity through the support of special events.
We strive to provide simple, helpful and fair policies and procedures for hosting special events within the city. Our first priority is the safety of our citizens, visitors and community. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact our Events Liaison.

How to use the Citizen Self Portal to apply for a Special Event
The Special Event Regulations have been developed to guide you through the Special Event Application and planning process. They are also a resource for guidelines and requirements associated with special event management. As you read the regulations and complete the application, please keep in mind that these documents were developed to cover a wide range of event types and elements.
The Events Liaison reviews and processes all Special Event Applications and serves as the primary contact throughout the planning process.
Special Event Permitting Process
- Organizer/Sponsor submits applications through the online Self Service Portal.
- City of Broken Arrow reviews application and recommends a Special Event Notice of Intent to Authorize for approval.
- City of Broken Arrow issues NOI and reserves dates and location
- Organizer/Sponsor coordinates all permits, submittals, and city services with Community Development at the City of Broken Arrow
- Community Development provides Special Event cost estimate
- Once the Organizer/Sponsor submits all information requested and meets all requirements set forth in Special Event Policies and Guidelines, a recommendation for approval of authorization will be submitted to the City Manager's Office.
- Once approved, an authorization permit for the event can be issued.
