Please allow anywhere from 1-2 weeks after a job posting closes, before you are notified if you are moving forward in the process or not. Once selections have been made the hiring manager will reach out to the selected candidates to setup an interview. If you are not selected to move forward, you will receive an email notification. Applicants may apply to another job if denied employment initially. Be sure your resume is updated and attached to all applications for review!
We conduct interviews by phone, video conference and in person to accommodate candidates. Our interviews are typically a panel style with multiple individuals. You should expect more than one round of interviews. Where you will speak with the hiring manager, talent coordinator, and the department director.
Once a selection has been made, the hiring manager or talent coordinator, will reach out directly with a verbal offer. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any additional questions you may have before accepting the offer. After you accept the verbal offer, we prepare and send an offer letter. You will need to sign in to your GovernmentJobs account (the same hiring system you used to apply to the position) to review the offer letter and officially electronically sign. Once you accept the written offer, the city will begin pre-employment screening.
An offer of employment is contingent on the verification of credentials and other information required by the City of Broken Arrow policies, including the successful completion of a background check and drug/physical screening.
