With consultation and input from the City of Broken Arrow, this race will implement the following special race modifications:
If you have a fever of 100.4 F or more, you should not attend the race. Any participants who cannot participate will be offered a refund of their entry fee. Contact the race director if you are sick with a fever and will not be able to race.
Also, volunteers should not attend if they have a fever of 100.4 F or more. The temperature of all volunteers and Fleet Feet staff will be taken upon arrival at the race site.
At all times be aware of others and please maintain social distancing of at least 6’.
We REQUIRE that all racers bring a face covering to wear when they are in close contact with each other or race staff and volunteers before and after the race. We REQUIRE wearing a face covering before the start of each race, that can be removed while running/walking. While on the course attempt to maintain 6 feet of separation from other runners. After you finish the race, you should wear a face covering whenever you cannot maintain 6’ of social distance from others.
Porta Johns will be provided. Please remain socially distanced while waiting in line for the restroom. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
The 5K will use a WAVE START system – and all racers will be separated into three waves based on your expected finish time – start the race as follows:
5K Start Times:
Wave 1 – 9:00 am
Wave 2 – 9:03 am
Wave 3 – 9:06 am
Self-place yourself in waves based on these anticipated race paces:
Wave 1 – faster than 10:30/mile
Wave 2 – 10:31 to 13:00/mile
Wave 3 – slower than 13:01/mile
When lining up for the start of the 5K and 1 Mile run, please remain socially distanced from others. Family groups can be more closely spaced together, but you should maintain 6’ of separation from other races who are not in your current family/social circle.
There will be NO water stop for the 5K or 1 Mile walk/run, please bring your own hydration.
Course:
Volunteers will be required to wear face coverings. Finish line volunteers will be provided with gloves to wear.
At the finish line volunteers will hand you your finisher medal. Bottled water and other sports drinks will be provided post-race and will be self-serve, monitored by volunteers.
Post-race food items will be pre-packaged and will be self-serve, monitored by volunteers.
Beer – we will have keg beer. Beer volunteers will wear face masks and gloves when serving beer. You must be over 21 to have a post-race beer.
Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the 5K. Please remain socially distanced when awards are being announced.
