What should go in the Blue Recycling Cart?
Our curbside program's guidelines match City of Tulsa's. Please check out Recycle This Tulsa for an easy way to find out if an item can be placed in your blue cart. When in doubt, throw it out!
GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS
- Clear, Brown and Green Beverage Bottles (Including Beer, Juice, Liquor, Soda, and Wine)
- Clear, Brown and Green Food
Jars (Including Jelly, Ketchup, Pickle, etc.)
ALUMINUM AND STEEL CANS
- Steel Food Cans
- Aluminum Cans
- EMPTY Aerosol Spray Cans
(Air Fresheners, Cleaning Products,
and Spray Paint) - Paperboard Containers (see examples in photo below): Remove plastic lid (recycle) and lidding film (trash) from the container, make sure it is empty, and place the container and its lid in your curbside recycling cart.

- Advertising/Junk Mail, and

- Conditioner and Shampoo Bottles (Emptied)
- Dairy, Margarine and Yogurt Tubs (Emptied)
- Detergent and Fabric-softener
Bottles (Emptied) - Durable, Reusable Containers and
Lids (Tupperware-type Materials) - Food Containers and Squeezable Bottles (Emptied)
(Including Mayonnaise, Mustard,
Salad Dressing, Syrup, Vegetable Oils, etc.) - Milk, Juice, Soda and Other Beverage Bottles and Their Caps (Emptied)
What should not go in the Blue Recycling Cart?
The following items should be thrown in the Black Trash Cart, scheduled for bulky pickup, or taken to an appropriate processing facility (hazardous waste, etc).
