Level Descriptions:

Level 1

Level 1 lessons introduces swimmers to the water in a safe, fun, and engaging way! This level is ideal for those who have not taken swim lessons before or who are not comfortable submerging completely underwater. Through music, games, and exploration, participants will learn how to float on their front and back, blow bubbles with their face in the water, and start basic arm and leg movements – all with support. This level will acclimate unfamiliar swimmers to this new environment and lay the foundation for their growth in future levels!

Level 2

Level 2 lessons are intended for swimmers who have already passed Level 1 or are already comfortable submerging completely underwater but cannot yet float entirely on their own. Continuing the use of songs, games, and exploration, Level 2 helps swimmers to improve their confidence in the water as they continue to develop skills learned in their previous levels. Participants will become more capable, progressing towards floating on their own for 10 seconds, gliding 5 feet on both their front and back, retrieving objects from chest deep water, and swimming short distances with support.

Level 3

Level 3 lessons are ideal for swimmers who have already passed Level 2 or are already able to float entirely on their own but still need some support when swimming. Progressing with games, activities, and exploration, Preschool Aquatics - Level 3 develops swimmers’ confidence in the water as they begin to swim short distances on their own. Participants will work towards swimming 10 yards on both their front and back, treading independently, and learn a swim-float-swim sequence to reach safety.
