The City of Broken Arrow began to verify and inventory service lines in the Spring of 2023 by either reviewing historical records or city staff physically collected GPS coordinates of the water meter locations and collected data at the meter of the customer owned service line and the City owned service line. As of October 2024, the city did not report any lead customer or city owned service lines. Efforts to identify any unverified service lines is ongoing.
The City of Broken Arrow has provided an interactive map below for residents to look up their address and see what the City has identified the service lines on city and customer owned service lines. Instructions on using the map are listed below.

To use the Community Database, type a service address into the text bar located on the map that states “Find address or place.” If the bar isn’t shown on your view of the map, you can access it by clicking the magnifying glass in the bottom right corner. You may need to zoom into the map to see the property you are looking for. Once you locate the property, a split circle symbolized based on service line material will display for a single address. Once, clicked this will display information on the customer service line and the city owned service line."
Ownership of service lines is split between the City (public) and individual property owners (private). To learn more about ownership, view FAQs.
The chart below describes what each symbol means on the database map. Click a symbol on the map to read more details about the service lines at that property. To view a full legend, use the legend symbol along the right side of the map. The full legend will only display once you are zoomed into the map to view a service address.
Customer Notification
As part of the City’s service line inventory, and in compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR), the City will send notification letters to Utilities customers if the public and/or private service line material at their property has been verified as lead or galvanized steel requiring replacement. Customers where service line material remains unverified will also receive a notification letter. Customers will be notified by the EPA deadline of November 15.
Service Line Replacement
Under Oklahoma law, 11 Oklahoma Statutes §37-204, and the City’s Municipal Code §55-43, the City of Broken Arrow is responsible for the public side of the service line and the property owner is responsible for the private side of the service line.
The City of Broken Arrow is currently developing a service line replacement plan to be published by the EPA deadline of late 2027. The timeline of public service line replacements has yet to be determined. When finalized, the City of Broken Arrow’s plan will provide for the replacement of every public service line identified as lead. The plan will be published online at brokenarrowok.gov/utilities.
There is currently no Federal or State assistance available to help customers replace their private service lines. If public assistance becomes available, the City of Broken Arrow will provide notice to customers.
